(If you didn't previously edit your retroarch config otherwise skip) Go to User Interface>Appearance>Background Image>sdmc:/retroarch>assets>wallpaper> and select MENU.png. The zip drive has the name of the theme as default so you will have to change that. "CurrentTheme" can be whatever you named the folder with the images in them. Menu_wallpaper = "sdmc:/retroarch/assets/wallpapers/CurrentTheme/MENU.png" Open your retroarch config and Ctrl + F search "menu_wallpaper" without the quotes. I had to point to it directly in the config. Normally you could point to the folder in the retroarch menu except the image "MENU.png" doesn't appear for me in the retroarch settings which many others have also experienced. I renamed this folder to "Current Theme" and placed each theme folder in here as well so that I could just mpve and overwrite the images in the folder with another theme folder if I wanted to change themes without having to open the retroarch config every time. Place the unzipped theme folder in Retroarch/assets/wallpaper on your sd card. Select Custom aspect ratio and input either 160x144 for true resolution or 196X180 for larger screen size overlay. Exit quick menu and go to retroarch settings>Video>scaling Open the RA "Quick Menu" and then use the GUI to set up the Overlay according to your preferences.įrom the Quick Menu, select "Save Game Overrides."ĭefault Video is 3x to fill the heighth of the 3DS Screen. Make sure that "Use Content-Specific Core Options If Available" and "Load Override Files Automatically" are enabled. ![]() Go to the Settings menu and find the Configuration submenu. Go to the Settings menu and find the User Interface submenu and enable Show Advanced Settings Place the image and cfg file in Retroarch/overlays I included these instructions on how to activate the overlay in each zip. Default is set to 3x so you will have to go to Settings>Video>Scaling to adjust. The regular named ones will fit the 1x true resolution. If it has large in the name it will fit a screen size that is custom 196x180 which still keeps the aspect ratio, ![]() I couldn't find templates so I made these templates which can be used with gimp. Here are a couple that I made in different sizes since I couldn't find any to download.
